Reporting To: Registered Manager

Hours of Work: Flexible on a Zero Hour Contract

Hourly Rate of Pay: £12.70 – £25.40

Main Duties

·        To oversee your designated team and to ensure that all staff are supported.

·        To ensure that all carers who work in your team are adhering to all Company Policies and Regulations and to identify any additional training needs.

·        To enable all new staff to shadow you until they are competent to go solo or unsupervised. The Training Manager will come out to assess them and sign them off as competent. You may also be asked by the Registered Manager to sign off on training.

·        To attend meetings in the office with the Registered Manager, Office Manager and Care Co-Ordinator to update any concerns or changes.

·        To hold regular spot checks on carers to allow constructive feedback and report back to the Registered Manager.

·        To organise Team meetings with your team on a monthly basis , keeping notes and reporting any concerns or changes to the Registered Manager, Office Manager and Care Co-Ordinator.

·        To hold monthly 121’s with all members of your team.

·        To encourage all team members to complete the Care Certificate Standards and refresher training when due.

·        Make sure the team are working within a culture of delivering outstanding customer service.

·        Ensure all staff follow the company uniform policy; wear their I.D Badge at all times whilst on duty and wear the correct PPE.

·        To meet with the Registered Manager, Training Manager or Office Manager regarding your Personal Development Plan and Supervisions.

·        To identify training requirements regarding Medication and Shared Care Protocol to the Training Manager and to ensure that you yourselves are up to date with Medication Policies and Procedures.

·        To complete Quality Reviews and Care Plan Reviews on all the Clients as requested by the Registered Manager.

·        To report to the office any changes or concerns regarding a client on the same day.

·        Actively seeks to inspire and motivate a team by providing on-going coaching in order to develop individuals and continually improve performance.

·        To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Duties will include, assisting clients with:

·        Getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, and washing. Bathing and the toilet where necessary.

·        Assisting with mobility problems and other physical disabilities.

·        Assisting with incontinence using care aids and personal equipment. 

·        The promotion of mental and physical activity through talking, taking them out; and encouraging and engaging in activities, hobbies and recreation.

·        Changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning and emptying commodes. Laundering clothing.

·        Setting tables and trays, preparing light meals, serving meals, and feeding clients who require assistance.

·        Tidying and clearing away.

·        Assist with the delivery of the on-call system.

·        Reading care plan for each client visit on Pass before undertaking any tasks.

·        Documenting each visit in Pass, detailing tasks undertaken, any changes which have occurred and other relevant information.

·        Clearly showing accurate times of arrival and departure via the QR code or NFC tag.

·        Maintaining accurate, concise, up-to-date and timely records of the clients care via Pass.

·        All legislation is adhered to.

·        A system of internal auditing is embraced and carried out regularly.

·        The internal communication process is such that all employees are always aware of all information.

·        Compliance requirements from staffing, through to care plans and care delivery are adhered to completely.

·        A full understanding of safeguarding policies and behaviours are understood and implemented throughout the branch.

·        Enable Health’s policies and procedures are fully implemented.

Knowledge and Expertise – Essential:

·        Clear enhanced DBS check.

·        NVQ or equivalent in Health and Social Care Level 2.

·        Previous Management experience in Domiciliary Care.

·        IT Literate – Use of Microsoft Office, Gmail, Pass and Ulysees. However, full training will be provided on Pass and Ulysees.  

Knowledge and Expertise – Desirable:

·       Valid driving licence and own car.

·        NVQ or equivalent in Health and Social Care Level 3 and above.
